Wezhira TV Project Goal and Objectives

GOALS

· To raise awareness of filmmaking in the community and promote filming, allowing filmmakers to be the best they can be.

· To raise awareness of filmmaking as a way of record keeping and promoting regular recording of cultural activities.

· To raise awareness of the benefits of storytelling – The passing down of stories through generations is probably the single most important link to knowing about the past and ancestral history. Story telling is also an important way of passing on messages.

· To raise awareness of the benefits of the film industry and promote participation for community development.

· To promote filmmaking as a career choice.

· To give livelihood to the artist and the unemployed through film.

OBJECTIVES

· By the end of the induction programmes, Wezhira TV will be the most watched local product in Masvingo Province.

· In the next year, the number of people in the community involved in filmmaking will have quadrupled.

· By the end of the year, the quality of products produced in the province would have reached broadcast level standards.

· In the half year period Wezhira TV will be offering continuous professional training and assistance to all filmmakers in the province.

· By the end of the year the filmmaking industry in the province will be employing salaried individuals.
