WezhiraTV (www.facebook.com/wezhitatv) which went online beginning of March 2014 has launched its pilot project DVD. The filmmaking project dubbed WezhiraTV has had an amazing following on social media with its creative and interesting programmes.
The DVD is available for free but the follow-up projects will be sold for a $1.00 to support the filmmakers and artists involved in the creative process.
The project founder and director, Edward Chombe, indicated that they are now starting on film-based livelihood programmes for the artists and the unempolyed in Masvingo Region. Already in the pipeline is an action TV drama called 'The Streets' which has a cast of homeless people only.
'We are going to use some of the money from the DVD sales to rent an apartment or full house for the homeless cast and their upkeep. They will then conduct weekly filming sessions of 'The Streets' which will be their full time occupation,' said Chombe during the pilot project DVD launch meeting.
'We are not saying we have achieved our intended goal in quality and creativity, but we are saying this is our entry point and we welcome anyone willing to assist on the project, technically or otherwise', he added.
The DVD features Sitcoms, Reality TV and Documentaries. Planned additions on future projects are action TV dramas and short films.
